Groysman: Consequences of emergency situation in Chernihiv region to be eliminated

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said that consequences of the emergency situation that occurred at the arms depots of military unit A1479 in Chernihiv region will be liquidated and everything needed for people's safety will be done.

"There are no victims. Life and health are priorities. We will monitor the fire suppression. We will help to restore everything in case of need. I call on everyone to calm down,” Groysman told journalists, the Government portal reports.

The Prime Minister visited the village of Parafiyivka where residents of the surrounding villages were evacuated after the explosions at the arms depots.

Also, the prime minister chaired a special meeting of the operational headquarters, which outlined the priority needs of people and approved the decisions necessary for their provision. Groysman thanked the rescuers and local authorities for the emergency evacuation and accommodation.

"The police control the territory. Local authorities demonstrated excellent job. Everything is properly organized. And we must follow this example,” he stressed.

As reported, early on October 9, a fire broke out at the arms depots of military unit A1479 of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Ichnia district. Some 10,000 local residents have already been evacuated.
