Foreign serviceman found shot in Kyiv was not National Guard instructor - police

Police have refuted reports that a fighter of a special forces unit of a foreign state who was found shot in Kyiv on September 10 was an instructor of the National Guard of Ukraine, the press service of the National Police has said.

"While clarifying all the circumstances of the event and carrying out a thorough inspection, it turned out that the deceased was not an employee of the National Guard of Ukraine," the statement said.

Censor.NET editor-in-chief Yuriy Butusov said that the dead man was Israeli citizen Bar Bonen, who worked for a long time in Ukraine, was awarded a medal for volunteer activities by a non-governmental organization.

Earlier it was reported that a foreigner born in 1982 was found shot dead in an apartment in the Holosiyivsky district of Kyiv.
