Five Belarussians killed, 12 more injured in road accident in Mykolaiv region

Five citizens of Belarus were killed and 12 more injured in a road accident in Mykolaiv region early on July 20, the communications department of the Mykolaiv regional police has reported on Facebook.

A Volkswagen van with Belarusian license plates, travelling from Odesa to Gomel, collided with a truck that, according to preliminary data, was parked on the right side of the roadway due to a malfunction.

According to the police, the driver and four passengers of the van died on the spot, while 12 other passengers were hospitalized. The victims are being identified.

Criminal proceedings have been launched. The circumstances of the road accident are being established.
