Bad weather causes blackouts in 174 towns and villages in 10 Ukrainian regions

As of March 1, severe weather conditions left 174 populated areas in ten Ukrainian regions without electricity.

This is reported by the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

"Bad weather conditions (snow, wind gusts) caused blackouts in 174 populated areas in ten regions of Ukraine, particularly: 42 populated areas - in Donetsk region, 23 – in Cherkasy region, 23 – in Mykolaiv, 20 – in Odesa, 16 – in Dnipropetrovsk, 15 – in Kharkiv, 13 – in Kherson, 9 – in Zaporizhzhia, 8 – in Sumy and 5 – in Kyiv regions,” the report reads.

To ensure the clearing of roads and cities from snow, the entrance of large-sized vehicles to Kyiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kropyvnytsky, Kremenchuh, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson and in certain parts of the roads of Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kyiv regions is restricted.

The airports operate in normal mode.

The situation is under control of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
