Vice Prime Minister - Minister for Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadiy Zubko urges employees of Oblenergo to promptly react to the restoration of power supply after heavy snowfalls and wind.

He stated this during a meeting of the State Commission for Energy Budget and Emergency Situations concerning deterioration of weather conditions, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"In southern regions, where wind gusts reach almost 20-28 m/s, the power engineers should ensure the restoration of power supply in due time. Therefore, from January 17 to 19, we should be ready not only to clean transport corridors but also to resume the energy supply in these areas," Zubko said.

He noted that on Wednesday, January 17, from 3:00 pm, the situation in Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions was expected to deteriorate.

He noted that the task of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine was to coordinate and organize the work of regional headquarters.
