1,377 people have been killed in more than 76,000 road traffic accidents in Ukraine since the beginning of the year.

First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department of Ukraine Oleksiy Biloshytsky said this at the press conference on Wednesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"If we look at the statistics for the first half of 2017, we will see that more than 76,000 road traffic accidents occurred on the territory of Ukraine, 15,000 people were injured, and, unfortunately, 1,377 people were killed. We see that the statistics are very, very sad," Biloshytsky said.

According to him, the main reasons for road traffic accidents in Ukraine are violation of maneuvering rules, tailgating and speeding.
