State Emergency Service: Territory of Balaklia cleared from explosive devices
"The territory of Balaklia and nine villages in the emergency zone were fully cleared from explosive devices by the explosive ordinance disposal teams of the State Emergency Situations Service. The contaminated area in and around Balaklia was reduced from 10 kilometers to 100 meters,” reads a report.
To eliminate the consequences of the emergency situation, 165 people and 44 units of equipment were involved, including 17 people and 5 unites of equipment from the State Emergency Service. In the area of emergency situation, explosive ordinance disposal teams of the State Emergency Service are on duty 24 hours a day.
As Ukrinform reported, on March 23, at 2.45 a.m., a massive fire broke out at some sites of ammunition storage depot, located near the city of Balaklia, Kharkiv region, which triggered explosions.
