State Emergency Service warns of snow storm, possible avalanches in Zakarpattia region

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has issued warnings for mountainous areas in Zakarpattia region where strong wind, heavy snowfall, sleet and possible avalanches are expected.
“According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center’s forecasts, because of expected heavy snowfalls and snow storm on January 5, a considerable (III) level of avalanche danger is expected in the mountains in Lviv region, the highlands in Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia There is a threat of avalanches near the roads in the mountainous areas in Zakarpattia region,” the press service of the State Emergency Service reports.
