Most victims in fatal minibus crash residents of occupied Luhansk region

Yesterday, on March 27 at around 17.30 on the highway Kyiv-Kharkiv a Mercedes minibus from Luhansk region collided with a DAF truck.

Information about the car crash and emergency phone numbers for the Luhansk regional military and civil administration were published on the official site.

"According to the latest data, eight people were killed and another five were seriously injured. The victims are currently cared for at Lubny town hospital. Investigators determine the dead and injured people’s identities, the circumstances and causes of the tragedy. Pre-trial investigation has been opened," the press service said.

In a telephone conversation with Ukrinform deputy head of the regional administration Olha Lishyk said a driver fell asleep behind the wheel that led to the traffic accident.

In addition, the local official noted that seven of the eight dead passengers were the residents of the Luhansk region who were living in the occupied territory in towns of Antratsyt and Krasny Luch, while one of the victims was a Russian citizen who is a permanent resident in Ukraine.

Two children were among the injured.
