Health Ministry: 192 Ukrainians died of flu

"Since the beginning of epidemic season, a total of 192 laboratory confirmed cases of death from flu have been registered, including three children under the age of 17 and one pregnant woman,” reads a statement.

The highest number of deaths was caused by the influenza Н1N1 virus – 151 cases, the influenza A virus – 22 cases, the influenza B virus – 2 cases.

The highest number of deaths was reported in Odesa region - 34 victims, in Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions – 13 victims in each region, Zaporizhzhia region - 12, Rivne region – 11, and the city of Kyiv – 11.

Since the start of epidemic season, over 3.2 million people ill with flu and acute respiratory illness were registered in Ukraine.

Over the last 24 hours, over 65,000 Ukrainians have fallen ill, 50% of them are children under the age of 17.
