Kyiv election results to be announced no later than Nov. 6
Deputy Chairman of Kyiv City Territorial Election Commission Mykola Nilov said this at a briefing on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"Kyiv City Territorial Election Commission must announce the official results no later than 12 days after election day. According to the calendar plan of the Central Election Commission, this is 6 November 2020. We will try to do it faster," Nilov said.
According to a parallel vote count conducted by the UDAR party, the incumbent mayor of Kyiv city, Vitali Klitschko, wins the first round of elections, gaining 50.9% of the vote.
Local elections were held in Ukraine on October 25. Ukrainians elected members to regional, district and village councils, as well as chairmen of villages, towns and cities in 1,439 communities.
