Over 325,000 Ukrainians change place of voting before second round of presidential elections

More than 325,000 Ukrainians have already used their right to temporarily change the place of voting before the second round of presidential elections scheduled for April 21, Head of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine Tetiana Slipachuk has said.

"Departments of the State Register of Voters started receiving [citizens] immediately after the CEC announced the results of voting on March 31. In fact, from April 7 to April 15, 325,604 Ukrainians used their right to temporarily change the place of voting," she wrote on her Facebook page.

The largest number of applications were filed by residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions - 58,968 and 29,784 respectively.

"Comparing this process with what we had ahead of the vote on March 31, the number of citizens who took advantage of their right to change [the place of voting] has grown by 9,879," she said.

Slipachuk also said that the departments of the State Register of Voters had currently started printing the updated voter lists and sending them to precinct election commissions.
