Ukraine's government preparing measures to support agricultural producers
The Cabinet of Ministers, in cooperation with banks, is preparing a package of measures to support the agricultural sector, including financing for producers.

Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi said this in a Facebook post, according to Ukrinform.

He said Russia was intensifying its terror at sea, attacking vessels carrying Ukrainian agricultural products and port infrastructure. This poses serious risks to exports, the entire sector and the economy as a whole.

The prime minister held an urgent meeting today with representatives of agricultural businesses and relevant associations to identify specific solutions.

"We are working to diversify and restore supply routes. At the same time, we are preparing a comprehensive package of measures to support the sector, including cooperation with banks on financing for producers, while also intensifying diplomatic efforts with partner countries that are key export markets," Koretskyi said.

The participants agreed on priority steps and assigned tasks and those responsible for each area. They also agreed to hold such meetings regularly throughout this emergency period.

Earlier reports said that vessel calls at Ukrainian seaports were temporarily suspended as of July 22 due to the security situation.

In response to daily attacks on Ukraine's infrastructure, the government, together with international partners, is developing solutions to protect export logistics. In particular, a program of affordable financing is being developed for agricultural producers who, due to the suspension of exports through the ports of the Odesa region, are unable to sell grain at economically viable prices.
