Russia bans gasoline exports until end of July
This was reported by Reuters, according to Ukrinform.
It is noted that the ban was imposed “to ensure a stable supply to the domestic market amid high seasonal demand for fuel during the agricultural planting season, as well as in connection with rising global oil prices.”
The ban does not apply to countries with which Russia has intergovernmental agreements on fuel supplies, such as Mongolia.
Russia has repeatedly imposed restrictions on gasoline and diesel fuel exports to curb rising fuel prices and address shortages caused by drone attacks on Russian oil refineries, as well as amid seasonal increases in fuel demand.
According to industry sources, the country exported nearly 5 million metric tons of gasoline last year, or about 117,000 barrels per day.
As reported by Ukrinform, a fire broke out at the Bashneft-Novoyl plant in Ufa, the capital of Russia’s Bashkortostan, following a drone attack.
