Ukrainians have overcome the most difficult winter of the war and preserved their energy system.

This was emphasized by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an evening video address, according to Ukrinform.

"Today is the day when each of us can rightly say: we have survived this winter, the most difficult one in all the years of war. The Russians wanted to turn this winter into the destruction of Ukraine and Ukrainians. But Ukraine did not break. We preserved our energy system. Ukraine repelled a large number of massive strikes this winter, with dozens of missiles and hundreds of “suicide bombers” in a single strike," the head of state noted.

"The Russians began this winter with a massive strike on December 6, which was one of the largest: more than 700 different targets were hit, and more than 50 missiles alone. There was a lot of ballistics this winter. In total, there were more than 700 missiles of various types. No nation has ever gone through such trials. Ukrainians have overcome this too," the President emphasized.

The head of state thanked everyone who is restoring the energy sector.

“I am grateful to everyone who is protecting and restoring our energy sector: all employees of energy companies, every repair and emergency crew, the entire staff of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine – you are truly heroes,” the President emphasized.

“Of course, I want to thank every Ukrainian soldier – everyone who is defending our skies, every air defense unit, Ukrainian aviation, mobile fire groups, all developers, manufacturers, and operators of interceptors – thank you!” the head of state said.

“I would like to thank the municipal services and local and regional authorities who were truly with the people this winter, with their cities and villages. Everyone in Ukraine has seen who is worthy of managing cities and communities,” the President emphasized.

The head of state emphasized: "I would especially like to mention Ukrainian entrepreneurs, every business in Ukraine – both small and large – that was able to adapt to these conditions, preserve jobs, get through this winter, and continue working in Ukraine. It is extremely important that we remain resilient in the future."

As reported by Ukrinform, over the winter, the Russian army used 738 missiles, more than 14,670 guided aerial bombs, and nearly 19,000 strike drones against Ukraine.

Since 2022, the DTEK Group has allocated UAH 31 billion to restore thermal power plants and power grids destroyed by full-scale Russian aggression.
