Zelensky names hardest-hit areas after Russian strikes on energy infrastructure
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in his nightly video address, Ukrinform reports.
"The most difficult situation after the strike is in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, in Kharkiv and the region, in particular in the city of Lozova. Also in central Ukrainian regions, primarily in the Dnipropetrovsk region, as well as in the Vinnytsia region and parts of the Chernivtsi region," Zelensky said.
He added that the strikes took place throughout the day and on the evening of February 3, and that all available resources have now been mobilized for restoration efforts.
"It is important that government officials provide maximum assistance to regional and local authorities with equipment and reserves. Every leader on the ground must act quickly enough. There is simply no time to wait," Zelensky said.
The head of state thanked repair crews, energy companies, and state-owned enterprises involved in dealing with the aftermath, including Ukrzaliznytsia and Naftogaz.
In the early hours of February 3, the Russian army carried out the most powerful strike on Ukraine's energy sector since the beginning of 2026.
In Kyiv, the Darnytska Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHPP-4) temporarily suspended services.
