EU provides 447 generators to Ukraine, first batch already arrived
According to an Ukrinform correspondent, the first portion of the 447 generators arrived in Kyiv and Kropyvnytskyi. The second batch will be evenly distributed among frontline communities.

The EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova, stated that overall the EU Civil Protection Mechanism had provided more than 10,000 generators since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. She added that while the generators were very welcome, they represented only a small part of the overall assistance the EU was providing to Ukraine.

She also emphasized that since the start of the full-scale invasion, the EU has assisted Ukraine with EUR 190 billion.
Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development Maryna Denysiuk, for her part, thanked the EU for its support and stressed that the authorities are trying to pay attention to large cities such as Dnipro and Kyiv.

"The capital will receive two more large generators. They are still on the way. We hope that our Polish colleagues will quickly resolve the problems with the customs system, which unfortunately did not withstand the frosts," she commented.
The Ukrainian Red Cross handled the delivery of the generators and, if necessary, helped with their installation.
"So far, we have received requests from more than 200 communities in 10 regions and the city of Kyiv. We hope to cover all requests and needs," said Illia Kletskovskyi, Deputy Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

As Ukrinform reported, the European Union is providing Ukraine with a batch of emergency generators from its own strategic reserves amid Russian strikes on the country's energy infrastructure. The European Commission has deployed 447 emergency generators worth EUR 3.7 million.
