At a meeting of the Headquarters for Eliminating the Consequences of the Emergency in Kyiv's and Kyiv Region's power systems, concrete steps were developed to replace the generation of damaged CHP plants with distributed energy sources.

According to Ukrinform, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, stated this on Facebook.

He noted that during the evening headquarters meeting, the heads of various sectors reported on the day's results.

The main focus was on restoring heat and combined heat-and-power supply.

"We have developed concrete steps to replace the generation of damaged CHP plants with distributed sources. This includes the installation of cogeneration units and block-modular boiler plants," Shmyhal emphasized.

He instructed Kyiv authorities to urgently calculate the required number of units to compensate for the losses.

According to Shmyhal, there was also detailed work with businesses in the region. Each enterprise was assessed individually to understand its needs and capabilities. "The result of this dialogue is concrete – in the near future, we expect to receive additional megawatts of capacity from business generation," he reported.

Over the past week, Ukraine received 31 tons of cargo – generators, transformers, and other equipment – from Spain, Finland, Norway, and Austria. A large shipment of generators from Lithuania and the EU is expected soon.

"Communication and digital coordination are another priority. Generators have been handed over to municipal enterprises and service providers. We also agreed with the city to support providers capable of delivering xPON fiber-optic internet to homes. There should be no monopoly here; people must receive quality communication services under any circumstances," Shmyhal stressed.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukrzaliznytsia has deployed a network of mobile points of invincibility in 12 regions, consisting of 54 railcars.
