Naftogaz drills 140 new wells last year

This was stated during a panel discussion at the Ukrainian House in Davos by Serhiy Koretsky, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.

“Last year, we drilled 140 new wells, which is the largest number in Europe. We can drill even more, but we need to attract additional funding,” Koretsky said.

In particular, Naftogaz has all the necessary 3D seismic data for the Dolphin gas field and is ready to begin preparations for drilling. According to Koretsky, such a field is attractive to investors for joint license development.

“Naftogaz's projects are a huge investment opportunity for the US-Ukraine Investment Fund. I think one of our projects will be among the first for it,” Koretsky said.

He added that joint projects with the Americans are currently under discussion.

As reported, in 2025, the Naftogaz Group imported 5.7 billion cubic meters of gas to ensure the heating season.
