NABU conducts large-scale operation to expose corruption in energy sector

Detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine are conducting a special operation to expose corruption in the energy sector.

According to Ukrinform, the Bureau's press service reported the news.

“NABU and SAPO are conducting a large-scale operation to expose corruption in the energy sector. Fifteen months of work and 1,000 hours of audio recordings. The activities of a high-level criminal organization have been documented,” the statement reads.

According to NABU, members of the criminal organization built an extensive corruption scheme influencing strategic state-owned enterprises, including JSC NNEGC Energoatom.

The Bureau promised to release further details later.

As reported by Ukrinform, employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau exposed the Deputy Director General of the Atomenergomash branch of JSC NNEGC Energoatom for soliciting and receiving an unlawful benefit from a representative of a contracting company.
