Naftogaz CEO discusses energy diversification with international partners
“Together with Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk, we held talks with representatives of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM Bank). We discussed potential financial instruments to secure additional volumes of U.S. gas to meet both Ukraine’s current and long-term needs,” Koretskyi posted on Facebook.
Koretskyi also met with Joshua Volz from the U.S. Department of Energy to discuss support for Ukraine, the replacement of Russian energy resources in Europe, and joint investment projects within the framework of bilateral cooperation.
During a meeting with Ditte Juul Jørgensen, Director-General for Energy at the European Commission, the parties coordinated positions and further joint actions to strengthen energy security in Ukraine and the wider region.
“At P-TEC, we held a number of working meetings with U.S. LNG producers, traders, and exporters, as well as representatives of European governments. We discussed long-term strategic partnerships to diversify energy supply routes,” Koretskyi added.
As previously reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine requires $2 billion to import gas for the heating season, of which $750 million is still lacking.
