At a meeting of the Anti-Crisis Energy Headquarters with the participation of relevant ministries and energy companies, officials discussed the launch of the heating season, increasing energy imports, expanding generation, including distributed generation, and the needs for rapid restoration and repair after damage.

According to Ukrinform, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko reported this on Telegram.

Participants assessed the state of the energy system and agreed on response algorithms for various wartime scenarios.

“The heating season has started as planned. Now our task is to get through the winter with warmth,” Svyrydenko noted.

According to her, the priority is developing distributed generation, as it allows communities to maintain energy resilience even during massive attacks. A total of 1.8 GW of distributed generation has already been put into operation, and capacity continues to grow.

The government coordinates actions daily with regional administrations, communities, and relevant services. Special attention is being paid to frontline regions where Russia systematically shells energy facilities in an attempt to deprive communities of heat. Authorities have inspected communities’ readiness for crisis situations. More than 8,000 Points of Invincibility are operating, with 4,000 others ready to be deployed in case of outages. All are supplied with fuel and communication equipment, the Prime Minister noted.

She added that under winter support programs, gas and electricity prices for household consumers remain fixed so that Ukrainian families can get through the winter without additional financial pressure.

All relevant ministries have been tasked with ensuring the proper operation of the energy system.

“We continue working to ensure heat and light in Ukrainian homes despite the challenges of war,” Svyrydenko assured.
