Ukrainian government allocates additional UAH 36.6B to Defense Ministry

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated an additional UAH 36.6 billion to meet the needs of the Ministry of Defense.

Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

“This is a financial resource to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities. We will allocate it to cover the most priority needs,” Shmyhal said.

He specified that the funds will support:

  • implementation of defense-industrial complex development programs;
  • introduction of new technologies;
  • expansion of the defense industry’s production capacities;
  • procurement of weapons and military equipment.

Additionally, UAH 500 million will go to support Ukrainian arms manufacturers, he said.

“We are working comprehensively and systematically to strengthen Ukraine with domestically produced weapons that will inflict irreparable losses on the enemy,” the defense minister added.

Earlier, Ukrinform reported that in September, the government allocated over UAH 2 billion to the Ministry of Defense to enhance the funding of the Drone Army. Bonus project.
