Kyiv has approached Warsaw with a request for a EUR 120 million loan to purchase military products from Poland's defense industry.

Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

According to the foreign minister, Polish-made weapons — particularly the Piorun MANPADS and Krab self-propelled howitzers — have proven highly effective and battle-tested, which is why Ukraine is ready to acquire such systems.

"This was one of the topics discussed with Mr. Sikorski, specifically the possibility of securing a loan. Using this credit, we are ready to purchase products from Poland's defense sector. Poland has strong traditions in defense manufacturing, and we are open to acquiring this equipment," Sybiha said.

He specified that the requested loan amounts to EUR 120 million.

Sybiha noted that during a recent meeting with his Polish counterpart, Radoslaw Sikorski, they discussed upcoming packages of military aid from Warsaw. According to Sybiha, Ukraine always clearly communicates to its partners the battlefield priorities and the specific needs of Ukrainian forces.

"The enemy will feel the results of these decisions on the battlefield, in the effectiveness of our troops," he said.

Sybiha also said Kyiv was in talks with Warsaw about co-producing defense equipment both in Ukraine and in Poland.

"This is a shared interest, a mutually beneficial one, and a contribution to our common future," he added.

Poland has already delivered 46 military aid packages to Ukraine, with total assistance exceeding EUR 4 billion.

Sybiha and Sikorski also discussed the implementation and planning of the upcoming 47th, 48th, and 49th military aid packages from Poland.
