ENTSO-E raises electricity export capacity limit of Ukraine, Moldova to 900MW

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Energy Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The electricity export capacity limit from Ukraine and Moldova to EU countries has increased to 900 megawatts. This is the result of cooperation between transmission system operators belonging to the Eastern Europe Capacity Calculation Region (EE CCR) and the TSCNET Regional Coordination Centre,” the report states.

The increased electricity export capacity limit will facilitate balancing for Ukraine’s energy system and allow electricity producers to earn additional profits.

“The new limit is valid until August 1, as the maximum export capacity will be revised on a monthly basis from now on. During the weekly grid status assessment, export volumes may be adjusted in accordance with operational safety requirements,” Ukrenergo National Power Company Management Board Chairman Vitalii Zaichenko explained.

A reminder that, in June 2025, Ukraine exported more than 237 thousand megawatt-hours of electricity. The import of electricity came to 203.8 thousand megawatt-hours.

Since May 1, 2025, the electricity export capacity limit of Ukraine and Moldova had been set at 650 megawatts.
