As part of the Ukraine-Denmark Energy Partnership Program, Denmark has allocated EUR 98 million for the purchase of equipment to strengthen Ukraine's energy security.

Danish Ambassador to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen stated this during the forum entitled "Energy Efficiency: Path to Energy Security and Recovery," according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

He stated that the Ukrainian-Danish Energy Partnership is Denmark's flagship civilian initiative, supporting the resilience of Ukraine's energy sector. The allocated funds would be used to purchase solar equipment and gas piston installations.

Mikkelsen said that energy efficiency is a key component of cooperation between Denmark and Ukraine, covering both short-term and long-term strategies to enhance energy security. He also mentioned that the two countries are working together in areas such as thermal insulation, heating and cooling systems, and energy-saving technologies.

At the beginning of 2024, Ukraine and Denmark developed a list of critical technologies for the energy sector. The catalog includes 20 technological solutions that could be implemented in Ukraine to support distributed generation. These solutions fall into categories such as gas turbines, solar panels with storage systems, wind generation, grid-based energy storage, biogas generation, and biomass cogeneration units.
