Power supplies restored to 13,000 consumers in past day - Energy Ministry

On Friday, October 20, electricity supplies were resumed to almost 13,000 consumers, most of them in Donetsk region.

That’s according to the Ministry of Energy, Ukrinform reports.

“The invaders continue to terrorize frontline and border areas from their own territory. Due to constant shelling targeting the city of Kherson, power supplies were cut to 2,700 consumers. Also, part of consumers in Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions remain in blackout. Energy repair teams scramble wherever the security situation allows. In total, supplies to nearly 13,000 consumers have beeb restored over the past day, most of them in Donetsk region,” the statement said.

In addition, 1,500 consumers remain disconnected in Kherson due to flooding. Energy teams are working to restore power supply, but their work is slowed down due to shelling.

The Ministry of Energy notes that 9,700 consumers have regained access to electricity after they lost it over a broken power line. In Kyiv region, supplies to 388 consumers were cut over technological violations. Repair works are underway.

In the Chernihiv region, after a 100kV line was switched off, seven settlements were disconnected. Supplies were restored due to reserve lines, while repair works are ongoing. In Lviv region, due to adverse weather conditions, a local 110 kV line sustained damage but no consumers were deprived of access to electricity.

As reported, during the day of October 19, energy supplies were restored to 16,500 consumers after a blackout caused by hostilities.
