PM Shmyhal, USAID Administrator discuss energy system restoration

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal discussed the restoration of the energy system with USAID Administrator Samantha Power.

"I welcome USAID Administrator Samantha Power on another visit to Ukraine. We highly appreciate the quick and strong support from the USA through the agency’s mechanisms," Shmyhal posted on Telegram.

The Prime Minister thanked the US for the provision of a new $500 million package of humanitarian aid and $250 million to support the agriculture of Ukraine. He also emphasized that Russia once again endangered global food security.

"I spoke about ways to continue the grain initiative and steps to build border infrastructure. We discussed the restoration of the energy system – the agency's help in this area is very important to us," Shmyhal noted.

According to him, the Government is also focused on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises through loan and grant programs and implementing reforms.

USAID Administrator Samantha Power announced during her visit to the Odesa seaport that the United States would additionally allocate $250 million to support Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
