The port operator Dubai Port World has been included in the list of international sponsors of Russia's war because of its cooperation with Russia.

Ukraine's National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) reported this, Ukrinform says.

"The reason for this decision is that the company from the United Arab Emirates not only does not stop doing business with Russia but also intensifies cooperation with the aggressor. Last month, DP World signed an agreement with the Russian state corporation Rosatom on the development of the Northern Sea Route," NACP stated.

According to NACP, the length of the Northern Sea Route will be over 5,600 kilometers, from Murmansk to Vladivostok, along the coasts of the seas and the Arctic and Pacific Oceans.

"After signing the agreement with Rosatom, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the development of the Northern Sea Route is a strategic project that will bring about 20 trillion rubles (USD 224 billion) to the Russian budget. Thus, the Russian official directly confirms the benefit of the terrorist state from cooperation with DP World. These additional funds will be used by Russia, among other things, to finance the war against Ukraine," NACP emphasized.

NACP added that Rosatom's cooperation with DP World will facilitate the transit of goods to Russia bypassing sanctions. In addition, other illegal cargo and weapons may be transported via the Northern Sea Route.

It is emphasized that DP World is also active in Ukraine. According to NACP, in 2020, the company acquired 51% of the TIS container terminal in the Pivdennyi Port. Thus, it has sufficient information about the state of the maritime transportation industry in Ukraine due to Russia's war of aggression. In addition, DP World transships Ukrainian grain, including as part of the grain corridor.

DP World specializes in cargo logistics, port terminals, maritime services, and free trade zones. It handles 70 million containers brought in by about 70,000 vessels annually and operates in over 69 countries on all continents.

As reported earlier, NACP added the British corporation Unilever to the list of international war sponsors.
