The Japanese government plans to invite representatives of the Ukrainian government to share technologies that will help rebuild the country after the devastation caused by Russia’s invasion.

This was reported by NHK, Ukrinform saw.

The plan comes ahead of the Group of Seven nations’ summit scheduled to be held in Hiroshima this Friday. Issues expected to be discussed include the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine's social and economic infrastructure damaged by Russia's invasion.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan says he wants to use the summit as an opportunity to confirm the unwavering solidarity of the G7 nations with Ukraine.

"Japan hopes to support its rebuilding efforts by inviting officials to inspect various methods, such as effective ways to remove debris and know-how to strengthen the electric power system," he said.

It appears that the Japanese government is keen to lay the groundwork for hosting discussions at the summit and demonstrate its willingness to support Ukraine.

As reported earlier, within the framework of the Emergency Recovery Program implemented in accordance with the Grant Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Japan International Cooperation Agency, equipment for power substations worth 5.135 billion yen will be transferred to NEC Ukrenergo.
