The government launches the electronic border crossing system eCherha (lit. eQueue) at 16 checkpoints in the western direction. It has been successfully tested at two checkpoints.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said this at a government meeting, Ukrinform reports.

"We are launching the electronic system eQueue at 16 checkpoints in the western direction. It has been successfully tested at two checkpoints since the end of last year. Now eQueue will be available to all truck drivers crossing the border," Shmyhal stated.

According to him, after registering through the app, the user will receive a message about their status in the queue, its progress, and the time of arrival at the checkpoint.

"The benefits of eQueue for Ukrainians are a simple algorithm of actions, minimal effort on the part of the user, and enormous time savings. Benefits for business: reduction of losses due to downtime, optimization of business processes, transparency, and the same rules for everyone. Benefits for the state: streamlining transportation, eliminating physical queues, analyzing traffic flows," the Prime Minister emphasized.

Shmyhal is confident that eQueue will become a universal system for all types of transport. "Starting next week, truck drivers will be able to use it, bus drivers will use it in July, and car owners, in August. Our goal is to make border crossing as fast and convenient as possible," the Prime Minister stressed.

As reported, in December 2022, an electronic border crossing queue was launched at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint. It was developed specifically for the Ukrainian checkpoint and takes into account the peculiarities of the Ukrainian regulatory framework.
