Ukraine is expected to receive $42 billion in financial assistance in 2023, including $4.6 billion from the International Monetary Fund, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Sergiy Nikolaychuk has said.

"This year, the situation looks much better than last year. $42 billion in financial aid is expected in 2023, including $4.6 billion from the IMF. The financial support of our partners is very important in this difficult time for Ukraine," the central bank's press service quoted him as saying.

He said that during their visit to Washington, representatives of Ukraine had received assurances from officials and the U.S. administration, the IMF and other colleagues that the democratic community is ready to support Ukraine for as long as it takes.

Ukrinform reported earlier that Ukraine would get access to $115 billion in long-term support thanks to the International Monetary Fund and G7 countries.
