Shmyhal, World Bank vice president discuss projects to support Ukraine

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and World Bank Vice President Anna Bjerde have discussed the implementation of joint projects in support of Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, Denys Shmyhal said this in a Telegram post.

The parties outlined the prospects for extending the PEACE in Ukraine initiative, which became the largest investment project in the history of the World Bank and played a decisive role in the financial and macroeconomic stability of Ukraine.

“I also thanked for the launch of a new project in the health care sector, Heal Ukraine, and the signing of an agreement on a $50 million grant as part of the RELINC project to repair essential logistics infrastructure and network connectivity," the head of government noted.

The World Bank has unquestionably confirmed its commitment to the principles of freedom and democracy. "We are grateful for the readiness to help even in the conditions of military challenges," Shmyhal stressed.

As reported by Ukrinform, according to the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), the total amount of losses suffered by Ukraine’s infrastructure due to the Russian full-scale invasion reached $143.8 billion.
