The reconstruction of Ukraine after the end of hostilities will be the largest economic project in Europe.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said this in his annual address to the Verkhovna Rada on December 28, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to Zelensky, the reconstruction of Ukraine after hostilities will be the largest economic project of modern times in Europe. He noted that the entire territory of the state needs the reconstruction of infrastructure, energy, social sphere and other facilities that do not meet security requirements.

"We have to raise from the ruins the territory where the Russian invaders came after February 24. In the same way, we will restore the normality of life in Donbas and Crimea, which were illegally occupied in 2014 and which were brought to disaster by the occupiers over the time that has passed," the President said.

In his opinion, it is currently difficult to estimate the amount of resources needed for reconstruction. "But it’s for sure that we should prioritize the restoration of those companies that were in Ukraine or that came to Ukraine during the war, and those that left the Russian market during the war," added Zelensky, stressing that this is fair.

As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered his annual address to the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday, December 28.
