Russian troops have conducted a massive attack on the Kherson region, targeting apartment blocks and infrastructure.

That's according to the Kherson regional police, Ukrinform reports.

"The Russians continue to massively bombard the Kherson region with artillery and multiple rocket launchers, deliberately targeting apartment buildings and infrastructure facilities in order to cause as much damage as possible and cause casualties among the civilian population," the report said.

After powerful explosions in the regional center, windows in apartment buildings were broken, balconies were crushed and gas pipes were damaged. The occupiers also shelled the settlements of the Beryslav district, the Hola Prystan city community and the suburbs of Kherson. Residential buildings were damaged there.

Over the past day, the police of the Kherson region responded to 350 reports from citizens about criminal offenses and other events. Investigators opened 43 criminal proceedings regarding war crimes committed by the army of the occupying country.

Yaroslav Yanushevych, the head of the regional military administration, said on Telegram that on December 5, the Russian occupiers shelled the Kherson region 17 times. The invaders attacked the peaceful settlements of the region with artillery, MLRS, mortars and tanks.

The Russians fired on civilian infrastructure and residential buildings. One resident of the Kherson region was injured by enemy shelling, the report said.
