Austria is contributing EUR 20 million to the World Bank’s newly established Ukraine Recovery Trust Fund (URTF).

The relevant statement was made by Austrian Finance Minister Magnus Brunner on Saturday, following his meeting with World Bank Vice President Anna Bjerde, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, referring to APA.

“We are showing our solidarity with the population and are making a lasting contribution to stability in Europe,” Brunner said.

The URTF is intended to provide support for Ukraine’s reconstruction planning and implementation, as well as public services, namely those in the energy sector.

Brunner emphasized that reconstruction “cannot wait until after the war ends”, and providing support for activities in this regard is an important task for Austria.
