US preparing aid for Ukraine's power transmission – Reuters

The United States intends to announce today an assistance package to restore Ukraine’s power transmission ability.

“U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday will announce new assistance to help restore Ukraine’s power transmission ability in the face of Russian attacks targeting the country’s energy grid,” Reuters reports citing a senior State Department official.

As noted, the announcement will be made in Bucharest during a meeting of a new energy coordination group that includes the G7 and other nations.

Blinken would use the meeting to "roll out some of what the United States has been able to mobilize and our plans to get that equipment into Ukraine as quickly as possible in the next few weeks," the official said.

Washington had been working with U.S. utilities and hardware providers and with European nations to locate equipment that can help restore high-voltage transmission stations damaged by Russian missile strikes. “The official did not specify what form the assistance would take or how much it would be worth,” the news agency noted.

As reported, NATO does not rule out that Russia will continue to make efforts to destroy Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
