Power unit of Khmelnytskyi NPP connected to power grid

Power unit No.1 of the Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plant (NPP) has been connected to the unified energy system of UKraine.

Serhiy Hamaliy, head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, wrote this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Power unit No.1 of the Khmelnytskyi NPP has been connected to Ukraine’s unified energy system. Ukraine's energy system is recovering from enemy attacks. Consumers are being connected to the network," said Hamaliy.

According to him, electricity was cut off in 1,171 settlements of the region on Thursday. About 469,000 consumers remain without electricity supply, which is 80% all region’s consumers.

As reported, start-up operations are being carried out at the Rivne, South Ukraine and Khmelnytskyi NPPs.
