Zelensky, Erdogan discuss extension of grain initiative

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky thanked President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the support for Ukraine and noted a special role of Turkey in the grain initiative and its extension.

According to Ukrinform, Zelensky wrote this on Twitter.

“Continued a friendly dialog with President  Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Thanked for the unshakable support of the territorial integrity, sovereignty of Ukraine. Noted Türkiye's special role in the Grain Initiative and its continuation. Ukraine-Turkey interaction in the security sphere highly appreciated,” Zelensky wrote.

As reported by Ukrinform, on October 16, Ukraine and Turkey at the intergovernmental level expressed their support for the extension of the grain agreement after November 22, 2022, when the current agreement expires. Ankara on Tuesday said the agreement on grain exports from Ukraine should be extended for six months or a year.
