Saudi Arabia to allocate $400M for humanitarian aid to Ukraine

That’s according to a report by the country’s national news agency SPA following Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s phone call with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The president expressed his gratitude “for the Saudi leadership's decision to offer an additional humanitarian aid package for Ukraine in the amount of (400 million dollars) which will contribute to alleviating the suffering of Ukrainian citizens in the wake of the crisis. He emphasized that these humanitarian aid initiatives are evidence of HRH the Crown Prince's keenness to alleviate the human suffering of the Ukrainian people, which they will never forget and which proves the Kingdom's friendship to Ukraine,” the agency wrote.

The Crown Prince stressed that the Kingdom's vote for the UN resolution condemning the Russian annexation attempt targeting Ukrainian territories “emanates from its commitment to the deep-rooted principles in the UN charter and international law, and its commitment to the respect of state sovereignty and the principles of good neighborliness, and resolving conflicts by peaceful means.”

As Ukrinform reported earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Muhammad bin Salman the issue of cooperation for the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war and the provision of financial assistance to Ukraine.
