Four more grain-carrying ships depart from Ukrainian ports

As part of the "grain initiative," four more ships loaded with agricultural products left the ports of Greater Odesa, Ukraine.

That’s according to the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Ukrinform reports.

"Today, October 3, as part of the implementation of the ‘grain initiative’, four vessels carrying a total of 77,400 tonnes of grain, bound for Africa, Asia, and Europe, left the ports of Greater Odesa," the statement says.

It is noted that the FPMC B 201 and MICHALIS bulk carriers departed from the Odesa port, whike the SPRING and SAFFET AGA vessels took off from the port of Chornomorsk. It is known that the SPRING bulker will deliver 8,000 tonnes of corn to Egypt.

Since the start of the initiative, including today's departures, 5.9 million tonnes of agricultural products have been exported from Ukraine by sea.

In total, 261 ships carrying food for the countries of Asia, Europe, and Africa departed from three ports in Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on July 22, in Istanbul, at the initiative of the United Nations, Ukraine, Turkey, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, and Russia signed off an agreement on the safe transportation of Ukrainian grain and other food products from the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi. The agreement is designed for 120 days.

As part of the initiative, the first ship loaded with Ukrainian grain departed on August 1.
