Ukraine’s power system operator NEC Ukrenergo has fully restored operations at two main power lines in Kharkiv following a Russian strike on local critical infrastructure that left the area de-energized.

That’s according to Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, Ukrenergo Chairman of the Board, who spoke at a briefing hosted by Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform on Wednesday, September 14.

"We managed to restore two main transmission lines providing power in Kharkiv," said the Ukrenergo chief.

He noted that the company's specialists, together with Kharkivoblenergo emergency repair teams, continue to work on restoring power supplies to the remaining part of the area affected by blackout due to the Russian missile strike on September 11.

Kudrytskyi emphasized that within 4.5 hours, the emergency team restored 85% of energy supply in all de-energized areas.

He also informed that Ukrenergo is preparing for any war scenarios, including by readying backup power schemes, emergency stocks of materials, and response teams.

As reported, as a result of massive Russian strikes on September 11, a total of 40 substations of various voltages were de-energized; four employees of energy companies were killed. Residents of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy regions were left without power supplies.
