Ukraine’s agricultural exports grow 66% in August

In the first six months of the current year, Ukraine exported 12.5 million tonnes of agricultural products, compared with 26.4 million tonnes in the relevant period in 2021.

Corn took up the largest share of exports in August - 1.8 million tonnes, which is 700,000 tonnes more than in July. The total volume of corn shipped over the six months amounted to 5.7 million tonnes. Ukraine’s wheat exports came to 899,600 tonnes, which is 488,000 tonnes more than in July, but 25% less than last year. The volume of shipped wheat for half a year reached 1.5 million tonnes.

In August, Ukraine exported 154,000 tonnes of sunflower seeds, compared to 362,000 tonnes in July 2022, 286,000 tonnes of meal, compared to 141,000 tonnes in July. The shipment of barley rose by 23,000 tonnes compared to the previous month, up to 207,000 tonnes.

In August, Ukraine’s exports of sunflower oil increased by 8.56% to 391,000 tonnes, exports of rapeseed grew six times to 624,000 tonnes compared to July. At the same time, a total of almost 715,000 tonnes of rapeseed were shipped in the first six months. In August, Ukraine exported 22,400 tonnes of soybean oil (7,000 tonnes more than in July) and 128,400 tonnes of soybeans (more than 13,000 tonnes less than in July).

As reported, according to the forecasts of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Ukraine will be able to export about 65-70 million tonnes of grain and oil crops in the current marketing year.
