The situation in the temporarily captured Enerhodar is deemed as “dangerous.” The plan for evacuation of the city and the radiation contamination risk zone is currently being adjusted, taking into account the military developments.

That’s according to Oleksandr Starukh, the chief of the Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration, who spoke with Apostrophe TV, Ukrinform reports.

"The situation is dangerous not only for the Zaporizhia region. If we take the 50-km mandatory evacuation zone due to a possible accident at the nuclear power plant, then we’re talking about more than 200,000 people in our region and 200,000 in Dnipropetrovsk region. We are talking about the cities of Nikopol, Marhanets, Enerhodar, Vasylivka , Dniprorudne, and others," the official said.

Starukh noted that fully implementing civil protection measures is complicated because part of the territory has been captured by enemy forces.

The head of the region said that appropriate management bodies have been created, and the evacuation plan for Enerhodar and the radiation contamination risk zone is currently being adjusted, taking into account the military developments. The situation is “under the control of the central government.”

As for the radiation levels at the NPP, they remain “stable.” Indicators do not exceed the norm. But everything can change at any moment due to the senseless activities on the part of the invasion forces.

As previously reported, the enemy resorts to armed provocations in Enerhodar, including in the immediate proximity to the nuclear plant, which is Europe’s largest.
