First ship leaves Turkey for Ukraine’s port of Chornomorsk to be loaded with grain

The first ship to be loaded with Ukraine’s grain has left Turkey. The vessel is expected to arrive in Ukraine’s port of Chornomorsk tomorrow evening.

Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey, Vasyl Bodnar, said this in a comment to Ukrinform.

"The cargo ship Fulmar S has left the Turkish port of Bandirma in the direction of the port of Chornomorsk after an inspection off the coast of Kilyos, which was carried out this morning by representatives of the Joint Coordination Centre. The ship is expected to arrive in Chornomorsk in the evening of August 6," Bodnar said.

According to him, the ship loaded with Ukrainian grain will then the port of Chornomorsk and sail in the opposite direction along the ‘grain corridor’ within the framework of the UN initiative and the agreement signed in Istanbul on July 22.

The ship is sailing under the flag of Barbados.

As Ukrinform reported, on the morning of August 5, the first convoy of vessels with Ukrainian grain left the Great Odesa ports. Three ships, the Navi Star, the Rojen and the Polarnet, carrying 57,000 tonnes of Ukrainian corn, where heading to Turkey, Great Britain and Ireland. Today’s convoy resumed navigation from the port of Chornomorsk.
