About 880 thousand tonnes of grain crops have been transported to the European Union via Zakarpattia Customs Office.

The relevant statement was made by Zakarpattia Customs Office on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Currently, the passage and volumes of top-priority agricultural products and other priority goods transported via Ukraine’s border towards the EU have been increased.

“Between March 1, 2022 and July 21, 2022, over 877,000 tonnes of grain crops were transported via the border checkpoints of Zakarpattia Customs Office, namely 1,948 grain trucks and 13,621 grain hoppers,” the report states.

According to Zakarpattia Customs Office, the highest volume of grain exports was recorded in June-July 2022 (over 450,000 tonnes).

In mid-June 2022, Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration hosted an international working meeting attended by Ukrainian State Customs Service Acting Head Vyacheslav Demchenko, Slovak Financial Administration President Jiří Žežulka and Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Head Viktor Mykyta. In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the acceleration of agricultural exports to Slovakia and transit to EU countries through a simplified mechanism for the clearance of such goods.
