Turkish UAV powered by Ukrainian engine sets new altitude record

Turkey’s Akıncı UAV, created by Baykar Makina, and powered by a Ukrainian-made engine, has set a new altitude record.

That’s according to Baykar Makina Technical Director Selçuk Bayraktar, who broke the news on Twitter.

The new altitude national record has been set at 45,118 feet (13,752m - ed.)," the statement said.

Akıncı set a previous record in April this year, flying at 35,000 feet (almost 10.7 km).
