Ukraine is implementing 25 public sector projects worth EUR 5.2 billion in cooperation with the European Investment Bank (EIB), according to the press service of the Finance Ministry.

"Currently, the EIB's project portfolio in the public sector includes 25 projects worth EUR 5.2 billion, three more projects worth EUR 570 million are at the stage of ratifying financial agreements," the report says.

Since 2004, the total amount of financial resources provided by the European Investment Bank in Ukraine, both in the public and private sectors, has exceeded EUR 7.5 billion.

It is noted that joint projects with the European Investment Bank are aimed at improving Ukraine's roads, modernization of the energy sector, development of municipal, aviation and railway infrastructure, development of transport logistics, energy efficiency of public buildings in Ukrainian cities, creation of vocational education centers, support of small and medium-sized businesses, rehabilitation of the infrastructure of Ukrainian regions, including Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

As Ukrinform reported, the project selection process has been launched in Ukraine under the financial agreement "Ukraine Recovery Programme" between Ukraine and the European Investment Bank in the amount of EUR 340 million, which will be used to renovate schools, kindergartens, healthcare and sports facilities, and other social infrastructure facilities. The selection will last until February 4, 2022 inclusive.
