In 2021, Ukraine–Azerbaijan trade turnover hit a record high of almost $1 billion for the first time over the past seven years.

"Despite the pandemic, the trade turnover hit a record high of almost $1 billion for the first time over the past seven years," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said at a joint press briefing with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Ukraine and Azerbaijan have set a goal to double bilateral trade by 2024, he added.

"We also seek to increase the amount of mutual investment and the number of large-scale joint projects. In particular, the participation of Azerbaijani companies in the Great Construction projects," Zelensky said, clarifying he means the implementation of joint projects in Ukraine and in Azerbaijan.

As reported, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is on a working visit to Ukraine.
