In 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the State Food and Consumer Service opened or restored access to foreign markets for 81 groups of Ukrainian goods in 21 countries, as well as helped more than 200 Ukrainian companies start exporting goods or operating abroad.

That’s according to Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who spoke at a briefing on November 17, presenting the successes of Ukrainian diplomacy in 2021, Ukrinform reports.

“We promote Ukrainian exports and attract foreign investors. This is one of the key priorities of Ukraine's Foreign Policy Strategy. In 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the State Food and Consumer Service opened or restored access to foreign markets for 81 groups of Ukrainian goods in 21 countries," the minister said.

The top diplomat recalled that the increase in exports from Ukraine and investment in our country directly affect the well-being of citizens: "The more exports and investments, the more financial income into Ukraine's economy, more new jobs and higher living standards for Ukrainians."

The foreign minister noted the “fruitful” work of MFA Ukraine in the economic field and shared concrete results in terms of numbers.

"This year we have worked fruitfully in the field of economic diplomacy. This is evidenced by specific figures: more than 200 Ukrainian companies have started exporting or opened offices abroad. About 100 foreign companies are already implementing or considering investment projects seen as economically important for our country,” the minister said.

Dmytro Kuleba also spoke about the efforts Ukrainian diplomats undertake to organize and support hundreds of international events with the participation of Ukrainian companies, which is an integral part of economic diplomacy, as well as the opening of new markets for Ukrainian companies.

“During 2021, Ukrainian firms took part in about 600 online and offline business events around the world – briefings, business missions, forums, and exhibitions. Next year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and our embassies will continue to actively help Ukrainian businesses find new partners in promising foreign markets,” the chief of Ukrainian diplomacy concluded.
